weight loss food log

One of my biggest concerns in my diet is getting enough calcium. I will have to admit that in the past I really made no effort into adding it into my diet, I was never a drinking milk fan and didn’t see the need. Honestly, it was one of many bad choices I have made with weight loss in the past and now more than ever I realize that it is a must in my diet.

ScienceDaily (Mar. 19, 2009) — Boosting calcium consumption spurs weight loss, according to a study published in the most recent issue of the British Journal of Nutrition, but only in people whose diets are calcium deficient.

Like I said, drinking a large glass of milk is not my strong suit, however yogurt has become one of my daily breakfast favorites in the last couple of weeks. This morning I had my standard:

Breakfast:

2 cups of fat free organic yogurt with berries (thawed from frozen) and 1 serving of Bare Naked fruit and nut granola (400 calories)

Snack: Starbucks skinny vanilla latte (160 calories)

Lunch:

Pho, Vietnamese soup with chicken and rice noodles (495 calories)

Snack: 3 plums, small pint cherries, small tub of baby carrots

Dinner:

Salmon burger on whole wheat flatbun with tomato, salad greens/spinach and mustard (350 calories)

Late night pickles snack but all and all a good day.

Ups and Downs with weight loss

Its a slow slow progress for me, trying to learn new eating habits and dealing with the day to day. Wanting to go out to eat, wanting sweets and wanting to get to goal.

Unhealthy diets

Who am I? I am justacameragirl and this is my audition for the Fatastic5 ranting about unhealthy weight loss and the mindset of “quick fixes”. I have a terrible diet history, from the start my intro to diets were presented in such a way where I felt they would be a quick fix to my years of obesity. Its really held me back and extremely unhealthy. This is my Fat Rant – rant about ANYTHING that pisses you off relating to your weight.

Where I am with weight loss

So just had a 30 minute treadmill session and thought that it would be the ideal time to come on here and update this dusty blog. I started my You Tube weight loss channel back in Jan 2009 and I would have to say with 20 less pounds to lug around it all is going well. Recently though I have decided that I wanted to start making some big changes to how I approach not only my you tube channel, but my weight loss goals.

I am going to refocus all my efforts into a 21 week challenge. I say challenge, its more of a campaign to be a accountable for my weight loss and the first steps of developing a healthy lifestyle. I launched my first video just last week to discuss all my short term plans.

All and all I am off to a very good start, posting this video with some of my food choices and then a very successful weigh in video on Monday.
